It’s the quietest week of the year thus far on Nintendo Switch eShop, with a handful of tinier games leading the pack of new releases. Not that there aren’t things to look forward to on the list: There are plenty of games that puzzle fans, goat lovers, and nostalgic grown-ups might want to check out.
Pikuniku is an adorable puzzle-platformer starring a red oval with legs, who explores an adorably strange world to … start a revolution against a dystopian government? It’s a very bizarre pairing — puzzles and cuteness and conspiracy plots — and I am very here for it.
There’s also Goat Simulator: The GOATY, which its developers call “the latest in goat simulation technology.” If you’ve played Goat Simulator before, you know what to expect from this physics-based destruction sim. If you haven’t, well … that’s all you need to know. If you like goats, you will like Goat Simulator.
I’m showing my age here, but also tucked into this week’s update is Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, a platformer I distinctly remembered Nickelodeon plugging hardcore as a kid. It first launched on GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox back in 2003. I’m not sure who still harbors much fondness for this old THQ game, but bringing it back a few months after its 15th anniversary will likely delight some people … I assume.
