Switch game lets you change the UI to match your new Switch Lite

The people behind action-platformer Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom are taking advantage of the new Nintendo Switch Lite in a cool but subtle way. A recent update for the game now lets players customize the game’s user interface to match the color of their Switch Lite.

A new patch (version 1.0.5 of Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom) offers some colorful new options for the game’s menus and other UI elements. Players can choose from six color schemes: yellow, turquoise, red, pink, gray, and green. On Twitter, publisher FDG Entertainment showed the new feature in action running on a yellow and turquoise Switch Lite.

It’s a small but clever addition, one sure to be appreciated by the Nintendo Switch audience — which is very particular when it comes to things like menus and icons.

The Nintendo Switch Lite launched on Sept. 20. The system, which costs $199.99, comes in three colorways: gray, turquoise, and yellow. A light gray version of the Switch Lite, adorned with artwork from Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, is coming this November.
