Shaved Mario Is Making Me Feel Strange

Here is a very simple, but very effective mod for Super Mario Odyssey that shaves Mario’s moustache for the entirety of the game. Cutscenes, gameplay, everything. It’s gross and I hate it.

And yet…I also cannot stop looking at it. At how young it makes him look. Like this is the Young Super Mario Chronicles. Like a bridge between Baby Mario and Grown-Ass Mario.

This is complicated.

The mod was made by SlashSMC, and if you’ve been dabbling with the game on CEMU, you can download it here.

A Modder Recreated Super Mario Odyssey’s Sand Kingdom In Super Mario 64

One of the best kingdoms from Super Mario Odyssey is now playable in Super Mario 64 and it’s all thanks to talented modder Kaze Emanuar.

We’ve featured this modder’s creations before on the site and his latest project is part of his plan to recreate Super Mario Odyssey inside of the classic N64 game, Super Mario 64. This weekend, Emanuar released a video showing off the recreated level and it looks great.

This isn’t just a level that looks a bit like the Sand Kingdom, but instead actually features many different elements from the original including the ability to use Cappy, the ability to zip around electrical wires and even a talking Sphinx who askes Mario different riddles.

Emanuar has also recreated the Cascade Kingdom from Odyssey and is working to finish a large fan-game recreation of Odyssey in 64, featuring around 240-300 stars.

Zelda, Banjo Kazooie Levels Modded Into Super Mario Odyssey

Perhaps to give Odyssey that Smash Bros/Nintendo Museum feel, modder ItzSka has been importing custom levels into the Switch platformer, like Clanker’s Cavern from Banjo Kazooie and the exterior of Wind Waker’s Dragon Roost Island.

It’s not just the textures, either; both levels have custom collectables as well.

Here’s Clanker’s Cavern:

And here’s Dragon Roost:
