Call of Duty 2020 releasing this year from Treyarch and Raven

Call of Duty 2020 is still releasing this year.

The company’s executives confirmed during their Q2 earnings call on August 4 that the game will be released in 2020.

The company has revealed that the title is being developed by Treyarch and Raven Software – this is the first time they have revealed the developers.

“Activision will continue to build on its direct digital relationship with this expanded community as it delivers the next premium installment for Call of Duty, which comes from the wholly owned Call of Duty studios Treyarch and Raven Software.”

Call of Duty 2020 will release during the company’s Q4, which is between October and December. A late October/early November launch is likely the timeframe for release for the title.

Activision President Rob Kostich said on the Q2 call that the team is very excited to reveal the title and what it brings.

Now, as you heard on the call before, Treyarch and Raven are coming up with the next premium game, and obviously, very excited about what they’re working on and we do think fans are going to absolutely love it.

The game looks incredible right now, and internally, people are having a ton of fun playing across its campaign mode as well as the online modes that the developers are very well known for. And so, all I can say in terms of timing is I suspect you’ll be hearing more about this fairly soon.

There have been many leaks for the 2020 Call of Duty game. The title is ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ per leaks, and we recently got a look at the game’s logo thanks to a Doritos promotional image.

Activision has not announced any details on Call of Duty 2020. The company has always revealed the latest Call of Duty game by the end of May or June, but opted for a different marketing strategy this year. We’re hoping to see a reveal in the coming weeks.

Call of Duty has seen an extremely successful 2020 with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone performing incredibly well alongside COD Mobile.

Activision has three major releases for the year: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and Call of Duty 2020.

A timeframe for the reveal Call of Duty 2020 was not given during the call.

Stay tuned for the latest news on Call of Duty 2020.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 5 Faction: Shadow Company

A new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 has arrived! Season 5 for Modern Warfare and Warzone begins on Wednesday, August 5.

The new trailer introduces the new faction for Modern Warfare and Warzone called Shadow Company.

Activision Blog provides an introduction to the Operators of Shadow Company that will be coming to game with Season 5.

Operators

Highly skilled with a diverse range of expertise the Shadow Company consists of Rozlin “Roze” Helms (formerly Jackals), Velikan,  and Marcus “Lerch” Ortega, the Company’s leader.

  • Lerch hails from Plano, Texas and is a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Known on the battlefield for his enthusiasm and success in regards to eliminating the enemy, it was better to have Lerch with you rather than against you. Following USMC, civilian life didn’t suit Lerch, so he re-entered the fight in the private sector and is considered a one-man force multiplier. When the Shadow Company CEO came across Lerch’s dossier, he was the perfect combination of skill and moral flexibility. There’s no contract Lerch won’t take on nor challenge he won’t face which is how he finds himself in Verdansk leading the other Operators of Shadow Company.
  • Not much is known about Velikan. Dressed in full body armor for protection in battle and to hide his identity, little is confirmed about this Operator. A shadow of a shadow. Tales of his exploits are written off as fairytales at best and gross exaggerations at worst. Those who know him never speak ill of him. Whether it’s due to fear or respect, no one knows.
  • Rozlin “Roze” Helms joined the Shadow Company after migrating from the Allegiance faction Jackals. Previously, Roze cut ties with the Armed Services and returned to support her family and ailing father. Periodically in contact with Mace, now a PMC who left the Army after abandoning his post in protest of combat orders he deemed illegal, Roze gained entry into the Jackals mercenary group. Now Roze is letting her skill prove her worth as she provides support to Shadow Company while remaining on cordial terms with Mace.

Report: Call of Duty 2020 still releasing this year

Call of Duty 2020 still on track to release this year, a new post from leaker Okami claims.

It’s now nearing the end of July, and Call of Duty 2020 reveal has not happened yet. Fans have wondered why the company has refused to reveal the 2020 Call of Duty title this late into the year.

Okami posted the following tweet this morning. He says ‘as of about a week ago’ the 2020 game is on schedule to release this year.

Activision usually reveals Call of Duty games by the end of May but 2020 has been an exception. COVID-19 caused Activision and developers to switch to remote work and cancel any massive community reveal events that could happen.

In the tweet, Okami says the ‘reveal is coming very soon,’ but we still don’t know an official reveal date.

Okami’s track record has been good over the years, although he has had some incorrect information. Okami shared the name is Black Ops Cold War back in May, which was backed by Eurogamer and other sites.

Activision Statements So Far

The company last mentioned Call of Duty 2020 during an investor call in early May. Activision stated the ‘latest premium Call of Duty title’ will release in Q4, which is October through December.

The publishing company will release 3 titles this year, including the already revealed Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 and Crash Bandicoot 4.

Call of Duty 2020 will be a launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The 2020 title will also be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Duty 2020 has had many rumors over the past year. Kotaku started the rumors in May 2019. Kotaku stated Treyarch would be the developers of the 2020 title instead of Sledgehammer Games.

As always, stay tuned for the latest news on Call of Duty 2020.

COD 2020 campaign missions & MP Maps names reportedly leaked

With “The Red Door” Call of Duty 2020 alpha appearing on Xbox One this past week, some users online have spent a lot of time attempting to dig into the actual game files to see what they can find.

Now, it appears some users haved started to actually access the files of “The Red Door” alpha on Xbox and started to share some of their learnings from the files.

One of the learnings they have found is a list of the potential campaign missions for Call of Duty 2020.

Here’s the list of campaign missions:

  • K.G.B. (Russia)
  • Siege (Russia)
  • Yamantau (Russia)
  • Takedown (Side Mission)
  • Tundra (Side Mission)
  • Hub (Germany)
  • Hub 8 (Germany)
  • Stakeout (Germany)
  • Armada (Vietnam)
  • Prisoner (Vietnam)
  • Revolucion (Nicaragua)
  • Amerika (Russia)
  • Duga (Russia)

But, it’s important to note that these are most likely internally code-names for the campaign missions – or in-development names for them as the game’s development wraps up ahead of the Q4 2020 launch of the game.

Multiplayer Maps:

There are currently 8 MP maps listed inside of the game files per the rumors. This list does match up with what was previously leaked from XclusiveAce in his now deleted video. There could be more maps in the actual game when it launches as this is a still in-development game.

  • Black Sea
  • Cartel
  • K.G.B.
  • Miami
  • Moscow
  • Satellite
  • Tank
  • Tundra

Alongside MP, there will be Zombies as the co-op mode. For Zombies, the internal code name of the map is ‘Silver.’ Treyarch is known to use color code names for Zombies map in the past.

In addition, there are references to different ‘Zones’ for a potential new map for Warzone, which is expected to carry over to the 2020 game:

  • Duga
  • Forest
  • Russia
  • Ski Slopes

So far, Activision has not announced any details still on the 2020 Call of Duty game. This has made many fans anxious to get news of the game, going as far as digging around in the game files itself now with internal alphas in order to actually get any information they can.

Activision has not commented on the internal alpha on the Xbox nor provided any details on these new leaks that are appearing.

The 2020 Call of Duty game is expected to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and set in the Cold War era. The game is going to be a launch title for the new generation consoles this holiday, alongside releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Stay tuned for the latest news on Call of Duty 2020.
